Web Design for Care Homes

WEB DESIGN FOR CARE HOMES

Websites for care homes and home care providers built for the person actually searching — usually an adult child, often at night, under real stress.

01 / WHY SPECIALIST

Why Care Homes Need a Specialist Web Designer

Care websites are almost never read by the resident. They're read by a son or daughter researching at eleven at night after a hospital call, and what they need is fees, availability, CQC rating and photographs of the real building — not a mission statement.

02 / WHAT YOU NEED

What Your Website Actually Needs

01

Fees Stated Openly

The most searched and least published thing in the sector. A weekly range by care type, with what's included, builds more trust than any amount of reassuring copy — and families who can't afford you were never going to book anyway.

02

Real Photography and Virtual Tour

Families want to see the actual rooms, lounges and gardens. Genuine photography, ideally with a video walkthrough, since many are researching from another part of the country.

03

CQC Rating and Report

Published openly with a link to the full report. It's public information and families will find it regardless — presenting it yourself reads as confidence rather than concealment.

04

Care Types Separated

Residential, nursing, dementia, respite and end of life are different searches with different needs. Dementia care especially is searched specifically and deserves its own page.

05

Enquiry Form That Understands the Moment

Short, kind, and asking only what's needed: who the care is for, what type, and when. A twelve-field form aimed at someone in crisis is the wrong tool.

06

Recruitment That Works

Staffing is the binding constraint in care. A proper vacancies page with a simple application form is frequently worth more to a home than additional enquiries would be.

04 / FAQ

Care Homes Web Design FAQs

How much does a care home website cost?

Starter sites begin at £499 for a single home. Most providers want the Professional package at £999 for separate care type pages, galleries and a CMS. Groups needing a page per home usually run £1,500-3,000.

Should we publish our fees?

In my view yes, as a weekly range with what's included. Fees are the most-searched and least-published thing in the sector, and families rank openness highly at a point when they're being quoted vaguely by everyone else. It also stops your team fielding enquiries that were never affordable.

Who is the website actually written for?

Almost always an adult child, not the prospective resident — frequently researching late at night, under stress, shortly after a hospital call. That should shape everything: fees and availability findable in seconds, a phone number that's easy to spot, and language that's warm without being evasive.

How should we present our CQC rating?

Openly, with a link to the full report. It's public and families check it anyway. Homes that display a Good or Outstanding rating prominently convert better, and homes with a Requires Improvement rating do better addressing it directly than hoping nobody looks.

Can the website help with recruitment?

Usually more than it helps with enquiries, given staffing is what limits capacity. A real vacancies page with a short application form, honest pay information and something about what it's actually like to work there tends to outperform the job boards.

Do we need separate pages for dementia and respite care?

Yes. "Dementia care home [town]" and "respite care [town]" are distinct searches from general residential care, often with more urgency behind them. A combined page won't rank for either.
